"UNScheduled Events" was the official newsletter of the International Research Committee on Disasters (International Sociological Association Research Committee 39 [RC 39]) when I served as its president from 2002 to 2006. This is my final "President's Column" which appeared in the January 2007 issue (cover and page 2). There is also a nice "Thank You" note and promotion of a book I edited for the IRCD (page 3). The thank-you note was written by Henry W. Fischer III of Millersville University of Pennsylvania, newsletter editor.
